Edwardian Hotels London operate three
distinct iconic properties in the UKs
most dynamic cities: The Londoner in
Leicester Square, The Mayfair on Stratton
Street, and The Edwardian in central
Manchester. Each hotel pairs
contemporary design with a strong sense
of heritage, and each is built around
exceptional service and a relaxed,
luxurious guest experience.
8track Music was asked to translate
these values into sound. Rather than
one solution applied across the group,
we built individual music libraries
for each hotel and, within each hotel,
for every distinct space: restaurants
and bars, spas and treatment rooms,
gyms, lobbies and corridors.
The starting point for every playlist was
the same: location, interior styling and
the guests each space was designed to
attract. Our key focus was to draw from
the elegance of each hotel space, to help
transport guests into a worldclass,
relaxed luxury.
The Londoner, the world’s first super
boutique hotel, houses six restaurants and
bars, including a rooftop lounge, and The
Retreat, a guest-only wellness space with a
pool, cabanas, gym, salon, and superfood
clinic. We built a calming arrival
soundtrack for guests stepping in from
busy Leicester Square, upbeat playlists to
take restaurant and bar guests from day to
night, and a deeply relaxing ambient sound
for The Retreat’s wellness spaces.
At The Mayfair, home to the destination
restaurant May Fair Kitchen, we built an
upbeat, vibrant music soundtrack creating
a unique atmosphere for its world-class
location and cosmopolitan, well-travelled
crowd.
At The Edwardian in Manchester, the
group’s only hotel outside London, we
designed playlists to engage and attract
guests by matching the city’s own pace,
demographic and contemporary design,
rather than exporting a London sound.
The Result? Guests hear soundtracks
crafted to enhance each space, whether
in a decadent Japanese rooftop terrace or
champagne bar inspired by a Parisian
publishing house.
